The privacy-focused search engine reported a 300% surge in visits to its noai.duckduckgo.com domain on May 28, with sustained traffic levels 84% above baseline in subsequent weeks.

Mobile adoption accelerated sharply, with U.S. app installs jumping 30.5% week-over-week at peak. iOS downloads grew even faster, hitting nearly 70% growth during the same period. App analytics firm Apptopia confirmed the trend, noting a 29% increase in U.S. daily downloads.

The exodus follows Google's controversial decision to prioritize AI Overviews and chat-style responses over traditional search results.
